Organized by: Faculty of Urban Construction & Environmental Engineering, Chongqing University, China Europe Regional Centre for Ecohydrology u/a UNESCO PAS, Lodz, Poland Wanzhou Science and Technology Commission, Chongqing, China
The theme of the meeting was the ecohydrological effect of watershed exploitation and its hydroecological mechanisms. It is believed that the results will provide valuable insights on the research of ecohydrology, and sustainable solutions for water resource management.
The meeting was attended by 50 guests from Europe, USA, Turkey and China (see Appendix 1), of which 24 gave the invited speech during the first two days of the conference (Oct. 20-21) (see Appendix 2).
Topics raised during the conference:
- Ecological response to the hydrological processes in watershed and its ecohydrological mechanisms
- The rules of ecohydrology in watershed and the hydroecological effect of large-scale hydropower projects
- Sustainable water resource utilization and ecological management in watershed
- Spatio-temporal distribution of environmental capacity, water pollution control and ecological restoration in watershed
- Assessment for healthy rivers and case study
A 2-day field excursion was organized after conference (Oct. 22-23) to visit Three Gorges Research Institute at Wanzhou District and Field Research Station in Pengxi River at Yunyang County.
